ToolGraded was built on a simple frustration: most "review" sites are glorified affiliate landing pages. Scores are inflated. Cons are buried. "Best of" lists are ranked by commission rate, not quality.

We built ToolGraded to be different. That means:

• Real testing, not spec comparisons. We use the tools we review for a minimum of 2 weeks before publishing.
• Honest scores. A mediocre tool gets a mediocre score, regardless of affiliate relationship.
• Full transparency on commissions. Every affiliate link is disclosed. Our methodology doesn't change based on who's paying what.
• Regular updates. Tools change. Scores change. We revisit reviews when major updates ship.

We focus on three categories where the stakes are high and the noise is loud:

• AI Tools — The fastest-moving space in software. Hype is everywhere; real capability comparisons are rare.
• Web Hosting — Where many buying decisions are driven by commission rates rather than actual performance benchmarks.
• Privacy & Security — Where misleading marketing can have real consequences.

Our Methodology

Every review follows the same framework:

1. Minimum 2-week hands-on testing period
2. Scoring across 6 standardized dimensions (features, UX, value, reliability, support, privacy/security where applicable)
3. Competitor comparison at the same price point
4. Honest pros/cons — we aim for equal weighting, not marketing copy
5. Final verdict that answers: "who should buy this and why?"

ToolGraded earns commissions when you purchase through our links. This is how we fund the site and keep reviews free. Affiliate relationships never influence our scores — a tool that earns us $100/month per referral gets the same honest treatment as one that earns nothing.
